Unfortunately, most of us are unaware of the physiological changes that occur in the body during stress. When your body perceives stress it creates the"fight or flight" response. Every time your body triggers the fight or flight response, for situations that are not truly life-threatening, you are experiencing, in effect, a false alarm. Too many false alarms causes damage to body tissues and can lead to all different health problems. Hypnosis works to relax every muscle, fiber and cell in your body from the tip of your toes to the top of your head. This seminar covers the physiology of stress, physical signs of stress, stress and health, personal stresses, and simple, powerful methods to cope with stress. Participants will experience progressive relaxation and diaphragmatic breathing as well as guided imagery (hypnosis) with the goal of learning to create the relaxation response at will.
